If you’re having a reaction right now
Hives, swelling of the lips, tongue or throat, or trouble breathing after dairy is a medical emergency, not a support question. Seek urgent care.
The app told me I shouldn’t use it. Why?
You told us you’ve had an allergic reaction to dairy, or that you have galactosemia. Both are different from lactose intolerance, and for both, gradually increasing dairy is dangerous rather than helpful — a milk allergy tends to get worse with exposure, not better. That’s a deliberate refusal, not a bug. If you tapped the wrong answer, you can redo the check from that screen.
Why won’t my dose go up?
Lactico only raises your dose after three comfortable days in a row. So it holds if:
- you logged moderate or severe symptoms — the run resets;
- you logged less than about 80% of the prescribed amount — a partial dose doesn’t prove you tolerate the full one;
- you logged hard cheese or a lactase pill. Both are essentially lactose-free, which is why they’re easy to tolerate — and why they can’t build tolerance. They won’t count as a dose.
My dose went down.
That’s the plan working. One severe day, or two moderate days in a row, means the step was too big, so we ease you back and hold there until it’s comfortable again. Re-earning a step you once reacted to clears it from your record.
Why did my ramp stop completely?
You flagged a symptom that isn’t typical lactose intolerance. Those need a clinician’s eyes before you have more dairy. Once you’ve been checked, you can resume from the Today tab — we’ll restart you one step lower to be cautious.
I missed a few days.
Your streak resets but your step doesn’t. Do pick it back up soon, though: the adaptation this relies on depends on regular exposure and fades when you stop.
Reminders aren’t arriving.
Check that notifications are enabled for Lactico in your device settings — if you declined the prompt, iOS won’t ask again, and the toggle in Lactico’s Settings can’t override it. Then confirm the reminder is on, and its time, in Lactico → Settings.
How do I cancel my subscription?
In your Apple ID settings (iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions) or Google Play (Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions). Deleting the app does not cancel it. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google, not by us.
I reinstalled and lost my history.
Your log lives only on your device, so we have no copy to restore — that’s the trade-off for never uploading your health data. Your subscription can be restored: Settings → Restore purchases.
Delete my data
Settings → “Delete my data and start over”. It’s immediate and irreversible. There is nothing on our side to delete besides your subscription record — email us if you want that removed too.
